Full Disclosure: I haven't made it all the way through the full report but I have read the key findings.
You need to seriously look at how much time your kids (and perhaps you) spend on looking at or listening to electronic media. Common Sense Media has published a study of teen and tween media use - and to be frank - I'm simultaneously disappointed and concerned.
One of the things that really stuck out in my mind was the fact that overwhelmingly teens and tweens are consuming media as opposed to generating it. As a maker this disparity doesn't sit well with me. Additionally, children of color tend and lower income households tend to spend more time consuming media than their peers.
I'm going to make it a point to finish the full report before the weekend, but I would strongly suggest you at least read the key findings.
